About Girl Talk

Published by Joan Rudder-Ward

Hello! Welcome to Girl Talk, the blog page of Girl Nurture.

My goal with this blog is to post information and provide resources that will be  helpful for those involved in nurturing the personal development of their daughters, grand-daughters, nieces, mentees, etc.

Who am I? A mother, aunt, mentor to girls.  A business woman who became increasingly aware of the negative effects of  our media-saturated culture on the sense of self-worth of girls and women in our society, and founded a non-profit to provide resources to help nurture the personal development of girls and young women.  A substitute teacher in middle schools who is concerned with what I see happening with many of our girls who fail to recognize the worth and value that they  possess.   A concerned citizen who started an outreach to girls in the community through a photography program designed to help them develop leadership skills and build self-esteem, while having fun taking pictures. A person who wants to do my part to help girls and women become all that God created them to be.  I want that for everyone, but this field is my particular passion.

You’ll also find here input from other professionals in the fields of communication, education, health, psychology, etc, with the goal to provide resources for the total being–spirit, soul, and body.
